Scott was born in Spanish Fork, Utah and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is married to Roxann Lee Faux. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters degree in Accounting. Upon graduation from Utah State University he went to work for the national CPA firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. auditing corporations, governmental entities, banks and savings and loans. Scott also worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. advising clients on tax issues and performing compliance tax work primarily for individuals, partnerships and corporations.
Scott received his Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and began his legal practice as an attorney with a law firm with offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, San Francisco, California, Newport Beach, California and Dallas, Texas emphasizing asset protection and estate planning.

Scott has taught business and legal classes and has appeared as a speaker on tax and estate planning topics to professional, accounting and attorney groups. He has been a consultant and lead planner for financial consultants, tax attorneys and CPAs of wealth advisory firms.

Scott is a founding member of Faux Walker & Jones, PLLC. Scott has over twenty five years of experience and training in the areas of taxation, asset protection and estate and legacy planning. Scott provides tax, business and estate planning strategies for clients with varied and diverse backgrounds focusing on their goals, needs and concerns. Scott believes proper planning can help clients protect their assets and can avoid many legal disputes that can deplete business and personal assets.

Scott's areas of practice include Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Wills and Trusts, Asset Protection, Tax, Business Law and Business Entities (Corporations, Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, Professional Entities, Joint Ventures, Charitable Organizations and Tax-Exempt Organizations) and Probate.

Scott is active in community, religious and scouting organizations. Scott loves to travel and visit museums and has visited the Louvre, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian Institute, Skansen and many other museums.
